Photo-Edit

Used this new photo editor to clone myself. I think I'm going to make a couple of photos & post them on YouTube to see what the response is. I love photo editing, the fact I can create anything I want (pretty much). Once I get a new computer, I'm going to hopefully get some good video editing software so I can do awesome special effects.

Cause-to-Effect

This post is about one of my YouTube videos: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wcz_a4wDMQI

I promised you a video, and I'm pleased I managed to deliver this week! I worked on some domino toppling but I wasn't pleased with the end result, therefore didn't want to upload it. I had the idea for this about a week ago and managed to realise it in animation form in one day which has to be a record for me.

I'm thinking of doing a longer version, that's planned more, flows more smoothly and has a full track of clinking, clicking sound effects to give it a more real edge. As I wanted to get this uploaded as soon as possible, I left out an audio track - I hope you'll forgive me ;)

I also really like the white background, which somehow manages to capture what I love about computer animation, possibly because I'm a massive Pixar fan, and their logo is animated on a white background.

Before you ask, yes, it's inspired by the Honda - "Isn't it nice when everything just works?" ad. Also, it's partly to raise awareness of this blog, as my clone-style video-blogging wasn't very good.

Comment if you have any ideas, suggestions, criticisms or just want to say hello. :)
Thanks for reading this.

Entering the World of Play

So today, the head of my sixth-form asked me for my estimated A-Level grades, my AS-Level grades and what I planned to do next year; Whether I was going to university - I told her my decision not to go to university and her reply made me panic a bit:

"Okay, so you're entering the world of work next year."

I was like what?! That makes it sound a bit serious - and okay, I know you have to get your act together with getting a job, but that made the image of me in a horrible grey business suit walking through London Waterloo station spring to mind.

If I get a job doing what I really enjoy (and I've just finished a great book which gives good, practical advice on how to do just that) then it won't ever feel like work; It'll feel like playing.

So, Miss Rook, if ever you read this: I'm never entering the world of work. I'm going to earn my living by playing. Thanks for the football table in the social though.

Can we know the truth?

Introduction
Human beings learn by examining examples, testing ideas for clear results and taking risks. However there is one part of the universe to which we cannot apply examples or test our ideas on. So I've decided to take a risk.

The creation of the Universe is something science strives to answer, and does come up with excellent ideas about what happened - which can be backed up by evidence.

Religion Vs Science
Most major religions come with ideas about God making the world that tally with science. For example: Scientific theory claims that after the big bang light was trapped inside all the stars, and was then released, so all the stars lit up. Genisis 1, Verse 3 claims that 'Then God said, "Let there be light," and there was light' - both sides appear to document the main event. Proving also that religion and science overlap; that they do not always have to be at war with each other.

Evolution
The idea of evolution is not one that I believe - though I am happy to be proved wrong if sufficient evidence is found. Natural selection has been proven, yet single-celled-organism to human via millions of years has not. Yes, I believe species have changed and can change, but I still think they are contained in their own groups. For example: There are lots of types of dog that change and have different species, as there are different types of cat, but a dog can never produce a cat offspring, or vice versa.

Also, when I first heard the idea that chimpanzees evolved into man a 'missing link' was mentioned. Various skeletons have been pieced together from bones found miles apart. Now, that idea has progressed into the idea of there being about five species in-between. If this is true, then how have five entire species that walked on planet Earth gone missing without trace, especially when we've found skeletons of and evidence to suggest that dinosaurs walked the Earth before humans did?

Comment
I'm wondering what you think; I'm not trying to frustrate anyone. This is the basis for a film I'm going to produce and I thought if I posted ideas and segments here then I could get an idea of how best the film can take shape, causing least offence and to be as fair and open minded as possible.

iTunes Website Teaser

Alright (:

I checked the Apple website yesterday and was amazed to find this on the homepage:
I'm really excited to see what the announcement is about as
1) New iPod Touches and iPhones have only just been released.
2) iPad 2g would be news from iPad, not iTunes.
3) iTunes 10 has been released recently, so it's unlikely to be a new version.
4) iOS 4.2's features have already been released, and this wouldn't be very world changing.

I guess I'll find out in less than 10 minutes & post another blog / update this one with my thoughts as I am a massive apple nerd ^^

Any ideas for what it could be? Then comment! Thanks for reading this (:

Update: Okay, I've now seen what it's all about (getting strong deja-vu writing this) - stop reading now if you want to see for yourself, I mean it - Basically, they've just now got all the Beatles songs on the iTunes store... Guess that'd be a bigger thing for hard-core music fans. I don't know... Ah well...
Thanks for taking time to read my ramblings.

Hey there

Hello,

I'm Pete / Christian / 17 / Bloke / Boyfriend / From the UK / Creative / Visual Learner
That's all the basics out the way; We can get to the interesting stuff now.

I really like the idea of posting blogs, especially to make it a focus point for the creative projects I love to work on, so here goes.

I'm doing something unusual today; I've taken a camera around with me (and used a webcam to film myself sleeping) to document my whole day. The idea being there will be one day in 2010 that I can recall whenever I want.

I finished my GCSEs in 2008 with less-than-excellent results, yet for a couple of months over those 2 years I was in a student-run pantomime called Rumpelstiltskin which raised about £200 for the Teenage Cancer Trust. Taking part was fun as well as being very productive, and I'd love to do something else creative to try and raise more money for charity.

That's enough to be getting on with!
Comment with what you think of me filming my entire day & the charity fund-raiser, especially if you have any ideas or would like to contribute.
